Bowlful (the “App”, formerly called Sofra) is made by Nexios Media LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the App. The short version: we don’t collect any personal data. Your recipes and lists stay on your devices and in your own iCloud account.
1. What we collect
Nothing. The App has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We don’t run servers that receive your recipes, lists or usage.
2. Where your data is stored
- On your device. Recipes, notes, photos, grocery lists and past shopping lists, the pantry, the meal plan and your settings are saved on your iPhone.
- In your iCloud account (optional). If you turn on iCloud Sync, the App stores this data in your private iCloud database so it stays the same on your devices. It is held by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy; we can’t read it.
- Household sharing (optional, Bowlful Gold). If you share your grocery list, pantry and meal plan, Apple’s iCloud sharing makes those lists available to the people you invite. Your recipes are never shared this way.
- Recipes you share. When you share a recipe as a PDF or picture, the file is made on your device and goes only where you send it.
- Backups you make. Backup files are saved where you choose, for example iCloud Drive or Files.
3. Importing and linked recipes
When you import a recipe from a link, or open a linked recipe in Discover, your device loads that web page directly from the website, the same way a browser would; the website may see your IP address, as with any visit. Recipe text, photos and pasted text are processed on your device. When available, Apple Intelligence also runs on your device.
Photos of Bowlful Recipes in Discover load from Wikimedia Commons and Flickr, and scanning a product barcode looks it up in the Open Food Facts database. Like any web request, those services see your IP address; we send them nothing else about you.
4. Purchases
Bowlful Gold subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details; the App only checks with Apple whether Bowlful Gold is active.
5. Permissions
- Camera and photos: only to scan a recipe or add a photo when you choose to.
- Notifications: only for the kitchen timers you start.
6. Children
The App is suitable for everyone and doesn’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above.
